Bryce: Version 2010

Bryce update:

-He says "sorry Mommy" after his 2 min. time out punishment is over or if he accidentally hits you.

-I took his drink away from him in the car and he said, "Give it back. RIGHT NOW!"

-Eating like a freakin' pig! They say you should eat 6 small meals a day...Bryce has taken that to the next level and eats all day, all the time, always.

-Plays with his cars and trains, by himself, for 20+ minutes.

-His eyes disappear when he "Cheeses" for the camera.

-Likes to help with chores (if he thinks he is going to get a "M-uh-M" (M&M) as a reward.

-Will repeat everything we say. Everything. And understands there are certain words and phrases that are bad and should not be repeated. Ever.

-Loves his baby cousin and is learning to share with her. Patience.

-Has had a runny nose since October and is on meds again for another pair of ear infections. I foresee tubes in our future.

-Has an infectious laugh and smile and can sometimes use said laugh and smile to get
"M-uh-M's" or "Pop-see-cles"....what can I say, he's a little manipulator.

-Is starting to get interested in watching movies and LOVES "Popcorny"...we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks at the house and he sat through most of it.

-Adds a "y" at the end of most nouns. Popcorny, socky, Thomas the Trainy, fishy, Sponge Bobby, etc.

-Goes to bed late (10:30 pm or 11:00 pm) and sleeps until 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. No complaints.

-Likes to play with the dirt in the ditch across the street.

-I tell him to watch out for dog poop when we are on a walk so everything he sees on the sidewalk that is brown or dark or anything really, he says is poop. Then he says, "Don't touch it."

-Says "Bless you" when someone sneezes. Or burps. Or farts. Or coughs.

-Understands what "favorite" means and has a favorite matchbox car (so does mommy and daddy.)

-Now sleeps with Puppy and Mickey Mouse and I have to "close" their eyes by touching them and making a noise that sounds like "boop boop."

-Loves to dance and jump in his crib and can jump without holding on to the sides of the crib (all that trampoline practice. Trampoline story will be shared in the Christmas post.)

-Wears a 2T shirt and 2T or 24 month pants. Size 7.5 shoe.

-Weighs 28lbs. and is 3 ft tall.

-Got his haircut last week and sat on a booster seat all by himself without fussing. Actually smiled and laughed while she trimmed his curly fro.

-Wakes up and says "Pancakes!"

-Is doing better actually brushing his teeth and doesn't just suck off the toothpaste.

-We don't rock and read before bedtime much anymore. He wants to go right in his crib some nights. He still doesn't like the light off but usually falls asleep within 5 minutes.

-Likes to eat my soy burgers. (Ha Adam!!)

-Constantly picking his nose and gets upset when you wipe the "boogies" off his finger. "My boogies"...like I am stealing his soul from him our something. Very dramatic.

-Likes to play the keyboard and is still singing "Jingle Bells" and "Happy Birthday" daily.

-With a little help, can show you "2" with his fingers.

-Told Mike to "Wait a minute."

Gobble Gobble!

Still a couple months/holidays behind...sooooo, sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

My sister-in-law and brother hosted Turkey Day at their house. Lots of food, family, and laughs.
(mute the music to the right...)

We usually go to both grandparents' houses on Thanksgiving but Grandma had the idea of going to my side on Thursday and to her house on Friday. Our bellies agreed.

Daddy carving the turkey...

"PUMPKIN PIE!!!"

Halloween 2009

Okay. We are finally up to Halloween.

We flew in from Indiana on Halloween day. Got home around 4ish if I remember correctly. It got dark fairly early so we had to rush a little bit...plus we still needed to carve our pumpkins. Luckily, Mike had already gutted them and we decided to let Bryce color on one.

(Mommy's puking pumpkin)
Once the pumpkins were done, we had to get him dressed. He was a cowboy and a mighty handsome one at that! Cow last year, cowboy this year...do we see a theme here???He of course learned how to say "yee-haw" and took to the part as soon as his plaid shirt, hat, holster and boots were on.

Grandma and Papaw and Brian, Katrina and Baby Brody joined us for the trick-or-treating. I left candy out in a bowl on the porch (have a fear of running out of candy so we had WAY too much.) Bryce saddled up (hopped in his wagon) and with pumpkin in hand, we headed out into the sunset.
I guess mother nature wanted to make sure that Bryce really appreciated his costume...the temperature outside felt like we were in the wild west. Hot and muggy. Thanks Florida.
We went to a few houses and he said "trick-or-treat" in his cute little voice and was happy to get a treat (and wanted to eat every piece he got as soon as it hit the bottom of his pumpkin...had to distract from the chocolate with lollipops.)

We soon learned that we were not only the trick-or-treaters, but also the treats...the mosquitoes (which I swear are the size of hummingbirds) decided to join in on the festivities but decided to skip the "trick" part and go right for the "treat"....US! Mike grabbed some bug spray which helped (too bad they don't have "heat" spray.)

We ended up knocking on about a dozen doors. Bryce had fun and I'm glad Baby Brody spent his first Halloween with us. Brian and Katrina hung out at the house for a little while and let Bryce try on Baby Brody's costume that was at least 10 sizes too big for him. Apparently, it was on sale and very cute so they couldn't (and by "they" I mean Brian) pass it up.
