Today the clan went to the Parrish Railroad Museum to ride......duh duh duuuuuhhhh.....
THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE!
The Thomas engine was here for the weekend and seeing as Bryce is a Thomas enthusiast, aka "Thomas-freak", we bought tickets and invited (forced) Uncle Bobby, Aunt Tonya, Baby Summer, Yiayia and Pappou to come with us and enjoy the festivities.
We arrived and it was packed. They had food and games and a hay ride and other activities for the little kiddies to participate in.
Bryce went on the hay ride with Pappou and then we took pictures with Sir Toppham Hatt- the Mayor of Sodor (the Island where Thomas and his friends live...of course.)
Bryce is not scared of characters but this guy was a little scary so I went to meet him too. Baby Summer was fine until, what we dubbed the "Planter Peanut's Evil Twin," moved. Let's just say she gave her lungs a work out!
Yiayia and Pappou got in line early since seats were not assigned. We joined them, after our photo op with Sir Hatt.
Bryce's face was priceless when he saw Thomas coming down the track! He was so excited and waved to him and just stared in awe.
We finally boarded and sat in the first car which was an open air car. Both Summer and Bryce (and all of us really) had a great time. Bryce kept waving to everyone and everything including a piece of construction equipment and most of the trees on our side of the train. Very cute.
After the 20 minute ride, we took pictures in front of Thomas. By this time it was a little warm out and he was a little fussy. Not "out of control" fussy so we stopped by the Imagination Station and he played with some giant legos and we stamped his arms with stamps that I don't think were meant for human skin (learned that after it was smeared all over my hands and Bryce's hands.)
Yiayia and Pappou bought him an engineer hat, which he LOVES, and then he rode the kiddie train.
After the big time out with Thomas, we all rode over to Noni's house for some KFC and Noni QT.
She enjoyed the visit, Baby Summer and Bryce turned up the "cuteness" factor. I think they had a pow-wow before we arrived and worked out the details:
Bryce: "So listen, let's be super cute so Noni will give me an ice cream bar and you'll get extra hugs and kisses."
Summer: "K, but I want to at least get one lick of ice cream soooooo, I will fake like I'm gonna walk, take a step, and then fall into your ice cream, mouth open."
Bryce: "Not bad, but just don't take a big bite k, and easy on the slobber."
Summer: "Let's just remember who's boss here, 'em k?"
Bryce: "Yes ma'am."
We ate, played, snapped pictures and then took our tired babies home. Tonya said Summer was out before they hit US 301 and Bryce was a close second crashing out about 10 minutes after we were on the road.
It was a fun day with the fam and although the music was obnoxious and our feet were black, the "bay-bays" can add another notch in their memory belts.
